Lion's Roar October/November 2004! Greetings! We finished our summer season on a high note, taking part in the First Annual Dreadstock Festival, September 25th and 26th, in Vallejo, California. What a beautiful show! Blessed with perfect weather and a lovely 5 acre grass field next to the water, it was a wonderful weekend of roots reggae.
Mystic Lion Art designed and painted the stage backdrop that flowed with the breeze all weekend. Mystic Lion also provided the airbrushed artwork (with Evan Reiffel providing the layout and additional design work) for the Dreadstock Lion Ship poster and t-shirts. Thanks to Dennis, John, and Irie Dan and his crew for a very well run festival. We’ll definitely be back next year!
Upcoming Shows
We’re making the stage backdrop for the upcoming Halloween Reggae Extravaganza on October 30 at the Sonora Opera House, in Sonora California, with the Twinkle Brothers, Della Grant, and Soul Majestic. Look for the poster of lions in disguise, co-designed with Tommy Littlehawk and Evan Reiffel. Bambu Station Mystic Lion is sponsoring Bambu Station and IBA live at Veterans Hall in Santa Cruz on November 19th. Don’t miss this great night of roots reggae from St. Croix! We’ll have a booth at both of the above shows, so remember to stop by and say “hi”. Marty Dread
